I have a 1965 Impala "SS" 396ci 425 hp 4-speed car of which I am second owner, I have been told my car should have an alumine manifold, but I can't find it in any books, I am a numbers matching car right down to the water pump, The manifold on there is the one listed for a 325hp motor If any one knows please advise me of it and GM's number Thanks Bob

I have a 1938-1967 Chevrolet Master Parts Catalog dated 10-1-66. On Page 59-60 it lists Heavy Duty Operation Parts for Passenger cars and Corvette with the 396 and 427 engines with 4 bolt main bearing caps. It shows the Intake Manifold as Part # 3886092. ( No specific year attached to this listing on page 60 )

Nothing is shown in the main parts section of the Master Parts Catalog under Group 3.265 relating to High Performance for the 427 engine.
Too bad I don't have an older parts book for the full-size Chevies. This 2112 page Chevrolet Master Parts Catalog will be for sale as I don't use it for Chevelle parts.

I, also, have a 1965 396-425 impala convertible. The correct intake for your car is an aluminum one with the following part number 3866963. This is a one year only intake that was used on the 425 HP full size cars and corvettes. They come up on EBAY quite regularly.
