lbpuppy Shade Tree Mechanic Registered: 09/14/09 Posts: 165 Loc: Ontario, Canada	I need to drain the gas tank to finish cleaning the fuel system. I don't need any dirt to clog up the filters and carb. There seems to be a plug on the bottom right hand side of the gas tank. Is this the best way to drain the tank. I figure there is about 20L or 4 gallons of fuel in the tank. 3/4 of it is new but who knows what lurks in the bowels of the tank. I have a hand held pump I can get most of it out with it but I think having it all drain out the bottom might encourage more dirt to come out. Looking for any suggestions before I go ahead with the big drain..... Thanks, Cliff

AntiqueMechanic Registered: 12/02/01 Posts: 7720 Loc: Vancouver, WA	You can empty the tank by removing the bottom plug. Insure you have a large capacity container as it is a little tough trying to replace the plug while the gas is emptying. It would be a lot easier to remove the tank with the fuel still in it and empty the tank when it is removed.
