I had this posted in the 1933...35 forum...with no reply...
.....so maybe here..???
..a hard one for you guys???just trying to figure out..where the wood finishes along the chassis then kicks up...from the front of cowl its straight till where its been cut +was turned into a paddock basher.....I have no remainders to go by+cannot find any more info..[elsewhere] no manuals....note that I'm in aust...the car is a 1935 chev roadster..standard...holden body...[not many around].was thinking to replace the wood to the rear arch of the rear wheels just to get a start on mock up..then cut when I figure it out???.any comments welcome.....
.thanks dave......

I guess that most of us don't know about a Holden body. But really, the wood that attaches to the frame could be almost the same. I have a Fisher body manual that covers their wood bodies, and they may go up to 1933. Try to look on This site for a manual:

sorry I can't be more help.

Pics from a 1935 Holden Standard touring car.

Looks like the wood stops just ahead of the forward shock mount bolt on the tourer,

Do you belong to the Vintage & Veteran Chevrolet Association of Australia? There are a lot of vehicles like yours around so there should not be a problem looking at them first hand or obtaining photos.

Dave, pleased to see that you are a member of the VVCAA. I am the club librarian but we do not have any books dealing with your woodwork. You do however have a membership register and there are a lot of cars out there that have the information that you need. Only last week I had a call from a North Qld memeber who needed details; a few phone calls across Australia and he had what he needed. No need to go to a meeting; just pick up the phone. Good luck with the restoration.

Hi Dave,
Any progress? Left a post on the main forum a while ago but no reply. I have replaced all timber in my 34 sedan and felt the roadster should be similar. Checked out my mate's 34 roadster last weekend just to be sure. It is similar, only thing different is the steel floor. Took a lot of pics but can't attach them as I believe I need a URL (or whatever). If you could give me an email address I could help you out.
