Hello,

I am a new member and will be completing a total restoration of a 33 three window standard coupe started by my father in law. He left good records and it is about 60-70% restored but there is still a lot of work to be done. I have all parts but will need good pictures of where everything goes since I am not familiar with Chevy cars of the 30's Would anyone suggest a complete manual that would be helpful? Also, is there anyone with a 33 coupe close to the Kansas City area? I would love to take a lot of pictures if you are willing.

For starters, you need to pick up an owner's manual, a shop manual, the 1933 Chevrolet Service News (12 issues), a Fisher Body manual, a sales brochure, a Chevrolet Engineering Features manual, and a Chevrolet parts book. You will find all of the above very helpful to your restoration. Most are available in reprint.

Thanks for both the replies. I only have a couple of manuals so the needed list is very helpful. I will certainly be asking for help. Since I am new I do not understand what you mean by job number 33607 or 33628?!

The Job Number identifies what model your car is. The Job Number can be found on the Fisher Body plate that is located on the engine side of the firewall.

Post your Job Number here and someone will identify your model.

We will be traveling to my Mother-in-Law's home this next weekend so I will be spending most of Saturday looking over the car, taking pictures, inventorying parts, etc. This will be the first time I have seen the car since we learned it would be ours so I will be looking at it much closer than ever before.

By the way, I was mistaken about the model year. It is 34 (thirty-four) 3 window coupe. I will get the job number while there.

Thanks for your replies!

I spent about three hours today looking over the 34 Coupe and taking pictures. The following are numbers I found recorded by my father-in-law:

Style: 34-607
Body: S1614
Trim: 42
Paint: 166

The engine had the following numbers: 1 19 4 and 473741-2

Any info. regarding these numbers will be appreciated.

Style - 34-607 = 1934 Standard 3 window coupe

Body number S = body made at Fisher Body plant in StLouis

Trim 42 = tan (brown) mohair interior - no other choices

Paint #166 = black with gold stripe, wheels could be black, red, or cream

473741 block casting number is for a 1934 Standard,
1-19-4 indicates block cast on Jan 19, 1934

Note it is a 1934 and not a 1933

Chevgene,

Thanks for your reply. Your info. verifies what information I had been given. My reference that it was a 33 was a senior moment.

Thanks again.
