I have noticed they are repoping this Steering Wheel. Has anyone had any experience with one of them? Are they cheap imports or are they decent wheels? What about color, etc?

They have been available for a couple of years now. They are an inch smaller in diameter than the originals (you can notice the difference)(and will increase steering effort),They come in black and ivory (Chev never made black) and the ivory looks sick.....and they are improted from a ar-a-way land. I wouldn't be caught dead with one on my car.

I'm told that they come with the horn ring and cap. Does this horn ring interchange with the old one. In other words are they smaller also? How hard to find a decent original wheel?

Does the horn ring interchange with an original....I don't know. Is it hard to find an original. NO, but expect to spend well over $1000.00
The reproduction wheels are intended more or less for the street roder.
Since they have been out the price of the originals has not come down. That should tell you something.

I was just curious about these wheels. I have an original that needs to be done, I have an NOS ring for it so I may get it redone. Thanks for the information

UPDATE: I just got my old butterfly wheel back from having it restored, it came out beautiful. I had him paint it to match the dash & radio knobs. It came out like glass and looks beautiful. If I knew how to post a picture here I would if anyone were interested. Did I tell you guys it was beautiful?

From what I understand from talking with a couple of different people who do them, the color is applied as the final coat. It is really nice, we will see how it holds up. I understand they paint them with a flexable paint. Many years ago I had an NOS one and sold it thinking I would never have a car to put it on. It goes to show you a man should never sell anything, if you do you'll need it tomorrow.
