Anyone add powdered graphite to their gear lube? I was given a can of Dixon Microfyne by an old timer that swears it will cure whatever ails a transmission or differential.

I have not used powdered graphite in trans or rear axles but have found it very useful as a dry lube in locks and similar as it doesnt attract dust and other road grime. Tony

I used to be able to purchase MolySlip G, which contains molybdenum, sort of the same idea. It is intended for gearboxes. I however never had a need for it when it was available locally. It is still available: http://www.molyslip.com/Products/MolySlipG.html
