A good tip from Scotland: Here is a possible English vendor to get this bentonite powder to avoid slippery clutch. The powder "dries out" the extra oil.

Copy the whole text and glue it into the adress field:

The vendor above is only shipping inside UK. Here is another also shipping generally all over the world (on eBay):

Do some research. Pulverized cat litter may work. If you need help let me know. Mac (Geologist)

I wouldn't worry about that kitty litter stuff, use the cheapest Generic baby powder or talcum powder you can buy,. We used it on dragline & shovels brake bands clutches and leather bands belts and clutch linings. and on the wireline brake bands on electric wireline oilfield logging units. Gritty stuff causes rapid wear.

I don't know about using Bentonite for a clutch. It is sold here in Comanche County Texas for sealing earth bottom ponds and as a plugging agent for abandoned water wells. It swells when it comes in contact with water and seales off any permenable soils in the bottom of ponds. It also gets as slick as owl poop when it gets wet. To plug a water well it is mixed into a thin slurry and poured down the well bore. It retains the Bentonite in a water slurry and plugs off the water sands.

Thanks for the comments, MrMack.

I got the boxes today, and will keep one together with the neat foot oil for adjusting the clutch leather when needed.

In the meantime I have had to change my driving plans with Solan as I got a heart attack a week ago, but luckily without any major damage. Nevertheless I have to leave the driving to Kari for some weeks, and as to the planned visit to Sweden we have to use our daily car and shorter travel.

Some future changes in eating and food, more training exercise and a lot of resting hours this first month will give me a good start after the incident.

Hope you all are enjoying the driving of your own old Chevys, and drive carefully as well! I am a little envious at the moment, but hope to get some travels with Solan/Petrine somewhat later in the autumn.

Thanks a lot. Will start training on Monday and go on regularly thereafter. Change some of the food/drinks, but hope to continue some small sips of wine now and then.
