So I am having trouble figuring out how to get the electrolock hooked up to the distributor. Any tricks to make it go on easy?

and i could also use some help figuring out exactly where the wiring goes from the battery. I have the diagram from the repair manual but its not so detailed and I dont wanna screw anything up. Am I correct that the path from the battery is to the starting motor, then from there to the ignition coil, then from there to the distributor/electrolock. And I am guessing that in order to start up i will have to have the key turned. and then the starting motor pedal is what actually turns the engine over?

Also am I correct in that the accelerator is that little button in the floor on the far left side?? if so where does that hook up to on the carb?

sorry about all the questions, but figured i would keep you all busy!

thanks in advance

You can look at the post titled " Type B Electrolock Question" for the answer to one of your questions.

You have your electrolock installed on your distributor incorrectly. Check the previous detailed posting concerning same on this site. Also, for your distributor to work the breaker point arm must be installed as well.

No, the little button to the far left is not the accelerator pedal......it is the headlight dimmer switch.

To start the car, the key must be turned to the right, which activates the electrolock when the lock cylinder "pops" out.

Yes, the starter pedal is what engages the starter.

You are not correct on the wiring. The hot wire goes from the starter switch to the back of the amp meter, positive side. Another wire goes from the negative side of the amp meter to the "Batt" terminal on the electrolock. From the "Coil Gauge" terminal on the electrolock a wire goes to the positive terminal on the ignition coil. From the negative terminal on the ignition coil another wire goes back to the "Coil" terminal on the electrolock. \:D \:D \:D

If you are going to play around with the starter, try NOT TO CRANK THE ENGINE OVER! ...Go back and scratch a mark on the block and a matching mark on the distributor or you can put it back in the wrong place.
