willyCan a novice restore their own fuel pump? Ive heard this is a specialized skill which should be done by a professional.

Most fuel pumps are relatively easily rebuilt. The major item is a modern diaphram. As long as the springs and micorda discs and seats are good then it should pump.

Sure, you can rebuild the fuel pump yourself.....it is fairly easy.

Filling Station, Terrill Machine and a bunch of other suppliers sell kits and gaskets. You might also be able to get a kit from your local parts store. After AC quit building the fuel pumps Stewart Warner did. That design or similar was used for 10s of years on stationary engines, tractors and ??
