Loosen the nuts on the bolts holding the bottom of the radiator to the front cross member. Drain enough coolant so you can remove the upper radiator hose from the top radiator tank inlet. Loosen the top clamp and hose. Remove the nut and washer from the top radiator support rod assembly. Position one person (if you have two or three which is by far the best) on one side grab the hood on the top front and back of the upright panel. Another person can then pull the radiator forward until the center hood rod is out of the bracket. That person then then move to the side and grab the hood by the top of the side. Both people pull back and when they have control of the hood raise the front to clear the radiator and slip the rod out of the rear bracket. Keep pulling back to clear the headlights and bar while moving away from the body. Once clear of the lights and fenders the hood can be carefully put rear down on a pad or other soft place. It will stand up on its own. Reverse to install.

It can be done by one person but gets a bit tricky to keep from nicking the paint somewhere.

Actually, as compared to some other vehicles, removing the hood on a 1929 Chevrolet is a fairly easy process, and, as Chipper said, one person can do it alone.

If you think removing a hood on a '29 is bad, do it on a '32 or '52 or '66 or '97. Could pick almost any year newer than '29 as worse.

And here I thought it was lack of knowledge and experience when I removed the hood from my '37. It took 2 of us to remove it without damaging anything. And I'm thinking I will want a third person to help re-install it so I don't mess things up.
