It seems that I have nothing coming out of my Gen, according to my voltmeter it is making next to nothing, any suggestions on what I might start looking at, the brushes seem fine, is the next step to do a continuity test on the windings? The stator does not look all chewed up. I tempoarily swithed generators to a 30 model and that one seems to be putting out more power than I could ever possibly use but the pully on the front is different and comes way to close to my fan blade, are there differences between a 29 and 30 Gen that I am not seeing?? I see that the regulator faces a different way but I was assuming that the cases were the same and that everything should be interchangeable between the two, is this correct?

Thanks for the tip and I will definately do that but it will have to wait until Sun. as it is late now and I am going out all day tomm. I will get back to you though on Sun, its amazing how far experience goes and thanks again. I just want to be clear on what exactely you mean, I understand remove the fan belt, which is the arm wire, I assume this is the wire coming from my harness from the battery, is that correct? I have never heard of doing this and I never would have considered that it would turn the generator but I guess now that I think about it why not.
You say if it does not turn that it is prob. the gen. itself, what do you suggest next? How can I diagnose further to see what may be the problem? Not in any rush here I just know that the first procedure will take about 5 minutes and I would like to progress a little further on Sun. I am hoping that that tech section of this forum will be a good place to learn from, only tonight did I get my papers from my friend to join this club again and am hoping that I can have access to all that is avail. as soon as possible. I am eager to learn from guys like you that have the experience.
