I was going to put a new style clutch disc in my 31. However the flywheel looks to have been turned down so much that if I turn out the center to clear the springs on the new clutch and the bolts, I will only have about 3/16 of an inch of metal left to mount the flywheel to the engine. Has any body ever done this. If so did you use the stock bolts or something with a turned down head maybe. How deep was the stock deapth of the flywheel to the clutch surface?

I have a flywheel and clutch set up from a 30 sitting on the shop floor. it measures 1 3/16" from the pressure plate mounting surface to the disc contact area of the flywheel.

Ok. Does any body have a flywheel for sale. I need the measurements from the out side edge to the clutch plate surface. I think the surface on mine has been turned down too far.

My flywheel has 836862 and a date of B-12-1. Will one with 837043 and a date of E-24-3 work on my 31?

First I believe you flywheel number is 836362. It fits '29-'31. The 837043 is a '32-'33 and will bolt in but you will need to change the pressure plate as it takes the three arm style and not the four arm used with the late 4 cylinder and '29-'31 sixes.
