Hi,
Can someone tell me the correct dimensions for the tyres for my truck.
My model has double rear tyres.

1929 1 1/2 ton truck tires are: "front and rear 30x5; optional equipment tires at small additional cost, 32x6 rear." If you are not familiar with those sizes the 30 is 30" in overall diameter and 5 is 5" tall side wall. Today we list the rim diameter and tread width to size tires. So a 30x5 or 32x6 would both be on 20" rims.

Thanks Chipper,
The old tyres that were mounted were:
2 tyres of size 6.00 x 20
4 tyres of size 6.50
Are that the same as those you indicate?
6.50 is a little wider than 6.00.

Those will work. They are not exactly the same size as the originals but close enough.

Chipper,
The narrower a tire, the easier to steer, is that correct?
With the weight of the truck and no power assist I wondered if that might be an issue.
I suppose a half inch wider isn't really going to make that much difference.
I put 6.00s on mine.

In theory the narrower the easier to steer. I don't think the difference of a 1/2" will be noticeable. I use 6.50x20 on front and the 7x20 that came on the truck on the back. Gives me 50 mph speed and the four speed trans plenty of climb or pull. Right Clay? The truck as been to 9400 ft altitude without problems even though it has 50 hp engine and weighs between 5000 and 6000 lbs. Hasn't put out a fire in a long time except if you back into a ravine.
