I'm looking for some information about wire wheel options for a 1929 standard coupe (job# 8880). I have recently purchased 1929 coupe that came with 18" wire wheels. I do not have a complete history on the car yet, but I do know these wheels have been on the car since the early 70's. My limited research so far indicates that wire wheels were an option, but I have yet to find a photo of one. The wheels I have appear to be similar to pictures I have seen of 1930 and newer car. The hub caps are also unique, and I'm wondering if they could be aftermarket. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, that explains things. I'm in the learning mode here, so I appreciate the info. It appears I have 32 or newer wheels. What is interesting is the rear spare tire mount is the type that mounts the wheel by the lugs, not the rim. It is still a nice looking car, so I'll probably keep the ones I got, not sure I can afford, or find, the right wheels. Thanks again.
