I've gotten a lot of responses to my request for a good spellchecker package. I didn't want to add the previous one back in, if there was a better one out on the market now.
There are three GEEK forums that I post in and they pretty much all came back with the same response.

So, I've decided NOT to pursue adding this feature back to the Chat site.

Here's a way for you to get a FREE spell checker for your Chat posts, and it even INSERTs the changes (not like the older version).


GO TO http://toolbar.google.com/T5/intl/en/index.html
Download and install the Goolge toolbar. It will add a new ribbon to the top of your browser.

Then go to Chat and start a NEW post, or REPLY to any posting. When done typing, click on the "ABC Check" icon in the Google toolbar. It will highlight the misspelled words AND offer a corrected version of the spelling. Accept them and when you click on the page, all of the changes will now be included in your new posting!!


It's actually easier that it sounds. And Google isn't the only way to do this... but it is representative of the future. No more built-in spellcheckers. Now you can have an updated PLUG-IN that always stays up-to-date. And... you can't beat the price!
