I have been reading and hearing that our antique cars need zink in them, because modern oil does not have it and this could mess up our cars. I could use advise and suggestions on the type of oil, brands, etc I need for my 29 coupe to begin touring.

Modern detergent oils such as 5W-30 and 10W-30 have Zinc. The amount of Zinc had been reduced from 12000 PPM per thousand to about 8000 ppm. From what I have read this is more than sufficent for the old or modern flat tappet engines.
When your 1929 was new there was no Zinc in the oil and the engine did not require it. The valve train is very lightly loaded in the pre 1954 Chevrolet engines. A Zinc zdditive should be used for new camshaft break-in, and Chevrolet sold such a product since the mid-1950's, how ever its no longer available.
The non-detergent oils that some insist on using in old cars has no additives including Zinc.

#30 is fine for HOT Texas in the Summer. 10W-30 is fine also.
The V-8 Studebakers had cam problems from new on. This is true for some of the new V-8 engines that came along in the 1950's. A little extra Zinc may be helpful for them. We never knew what a worn off cam lobe was a a 194,206, 216 or 235 Chevrolet. There were some problems on the first V-8's if the owner didn't change oil and again in 1977-78.

My stude is a 61 Lark six cylinder. Probably zink would not be a problem here.???

My 61 engine is pretty solid. With Over head valves sometimes the heads cracked when overheated. But thats not oil.
