The Chamber of Commerce of Benton Illinois has asked the new Southern Illinois Region to particapate in their first Vintage car show in May of 2009. This event will be for all makes from 1900 to 1950 Customized cars will not be allowed to particapate I was told this ment no hot rod, street rod, or rat rods. the SoIl region is planing on going. you might want to mark this down. If any other regions would like to attened I will post more info as I get it. It would be great if the VCCA could make a strong showing. so more later.

Wow! What an idea. A car show with no motified cars! Around these parts in Ohio, the local car shows have 90% of the cars that are made before 1950 being modified/street rods. Seeing original cars at a car show sounds like a great event for VCCA members and regions to think about as a road trip for May of 2009.
Thanks for posting this event Bill. This gives our local regions something to think about as we plan events for next year.

Toolman--Here in Missouri I have been to three Antique Car Shows this year already with no modifieds allowed and they were all very well attended. Our local VCCA club will be meeting tomorrow morning for breakfast and then driving 12 old Chevrolets to attend the 22nd Annual Octoberfest Antique Car Show being held on Main Street in historic St. Charles, Missouri. It was the first capitol of the state nestled on the banks of the Missouri River. We were there last year and they hosted approx 150 purebreds.
