Just an update on my project, 1930 4 door "HOTROD" wink Delivered it to my 85 year old Dad this past september, in Coeur d' Alene Idaho. Came out pretty good considering the lack of help I had on it. Drives super nice, air conditioning and heater are a real bonus, as are the power assisted brakes and electric windows. Surprisingly gets 20 mpg on the road with regular 87 pump gas @ 2300 rpm./60 mph. The custom radiator & electric fan run it at 160 degrees around town. The 'ol man has driven it daily ( except in the snow )and to the best of my knowledge, has NOT gotton a speeding ticket .........yet wink

While I would of preferred to see it restored to it's original condition, I congratulate you on a nice job, well done! I am also glad to hear that your dad is enjoying it. He must be proud of his son. I am sure it was a labor of love.

Thank's guys,.............as you can see from the 1st photo, the car was already pretty well butchered up. My Dad bought it from one of his pals that had started the project 17 years ago and it had been sitting all these years. The story we got was, "all you gotta do is bolt the running boards on and you should be good to go" laugh laugh

Hello, I recently found this site while looking for information about an original 1936 Chevy sedan that I feel I was lucky to find. It is certainly something to behold.
It is not too often that you have the opportunity to be the caretaker of such a neat piece of history. I find particular
interest in vehicles that are old and original.

It takes a lifetime for these vehicles to gain their patina.

More exciting is to hear an engine come to life after it has been parked for 25+ years.

I also think that if done properly the hot rod can be quite an accomplishment. Not having created a hot rod or modified car or truck I suspect some day I will want to create one.
I have seen some beautiful cab over hot rod trucks.
I appreciate the almost instantaneous reponse i received from this group about my Vin numbers. I never expected to find my answer so quickly.

I just joined the VCCA and will be contributing to this forum for some time.

Regards,
Ken

Koodoes to Ken for making the right choice, and welcome to you.

The VCCA is the best choice for getting the information you'll need to keep you 36 original. I owned 2 36 2dr Masters in the past and they are great riding cars.

I like your description of the "patena" paint. That is something we don't often see. I agree that it is a rolling piece of history.

Good luck with it.
