I am new to this and have no clue as to what I am doing, so please forgive me. My Grandfather was into antique cars big time! He bought a 1927 Chevy Coupe, stripped it down to the wood frame and totally restored it from scratch. It took him several years, but in the end, he had a fabulous and amazing car. He took it to numerous shows and always took 1st place. He also took "Best in Show" on several occassions. He has since passed away and I now have a storage unit full of 1927/1928 Chevy parts. Whenever he would see a part for sale, he would snatch it up just in case he would ever need it. The unit contains engine blocks, fly wheels, crank shafts, headlights, transmissions, etc. Way too many to list. I need some advice as to how to sell these parts. I'd like to sell the entire unit as a whole. The unit is in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Also, I still have the car. Any advice on where I can post to sell the car?

Thanks for all your help.

Why would you want to sell your grandfathers car after all the work he put into it. I would keep it and have fun and pass it down as a family airloom. You sound like you have enough parts to keep her on the road but it is your car and you can do what you want with it. Good luck...Oscar

I personally would like to keep the car in the family or put it on loan to a museum. However, the car was left to my Aunt and my Mother. My Mother recently passed away and now the car is jointly owned by my Aunt, my sister and myself. It has to be a mutual agreement between all three of us as to what to do with the car. Seeing that all three of us are women and we have no clue about cars, we have opted to sell it. It is a beautiful car. I remember helping my Grandfather work on it when I was about 12 years old. I was trying to figure out a way to get in touch with Jay Leno, as I hear he collects old cars.

I have an interest in the parts. If you are considering contacting Jay Leno, I'm out of the bidding for the car without any discussion. I am located in Central PA, and I have family in Pittsburgh. If you want to "E" mail me with some info about where to find you or whatever, I will follow up.

Check me out at my web site rumbaughinsurancent.

I will be in Pgh area in late summer or early Fall to visit my 2 sisters in Mt Lebanon and my brother in Baldwin Boro. Love my '28 and I'm sorta like your father... I refuse to let this stuff go to the scrap yard and I'll always find a home for it.

Thanks

For the record, she sold the parts. They are gone.
