Solan, I went through the Auto Color site and came up with a Frost Blue DDL (Dietzler 12018) but it is shown to be a 1959 Chevrolet color and did not appear on the 1958 color chip chart. Here is the link to the color chip page: Color for 1959 ChevroletFYI; the correctly matched paint should be available from This site. Enter the following data into the boxes at the top of the page: Name: [Frost Blue Poly.] Color chip formula number: [DDL 12018] Auto MFG Paint Code; [910-A] then click on [up date paint pricing] That will take you to the paint pricing page for the Frost Blue Poly DDL 12018 Hope this is helpful.

Thanks, MrMack, We appreciate your speedy help in this matter. Our member has borrowed the color chart for 58, but not the 59. May be he will have to do that as well. Could the color (Frost Blue)on that particular car be the original one even if it is a 58 car? I don't know the previous story of the car in USA, but it also could have been changed here in Norway when coming here. Here is the beauty: http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/1313/impala03rb3.jpg

I agree with John ....from the photo it appears to be close to silber blue, but computers aren't an exact science by any means. I wonder if he has the data from the cowl tag as to the paint & trim numbers? I rather doubt that a 58 Impala would have been painted a 1959 color at the factory.

Solan, From the information you supplied (PPG #12018) I assumed that he had the correct data for the color formula he was seeking from a good source. Everything matched up except the year model of 1958 Vs. 1959. Computer screen paint matching had nothing to do with the information I gathered. If he is unsure of the color for his car, where did he get the MANF Formula number of PPG #12018?
When you ask a question here you are likely to get more information than you need or expect....I call it "information overload!" So sort it out as you desire, use what you like and consider the extra stuff as...well just extra.....stuff.
