I have a 1920 "490" touring car with a hood problem. When I close the hood, the passenger side does not close properly. It tends to close at a slight angle to the rear of the car. Should the hinge pin ( 5/16 dia ) be perfectly straight, or should there be a slight offset at the cowl end? Mine seems to have an offset.

The hood should be centered and square when in the proper position. You can adjust the shell and radiator a considerable amount to achieve the proper height, tilt, and twist.
