the 2 stamped steel plug wire retainers that attach to the side cover and keep the plug wire in place: were there rubber grommets captured by these retainers to prevent chaffing of the plug wires? is so, anybody got a source. don't see any in FS. thanks, mike

Nope.....no rubber retainers! Ya just gotta get ya a 1932 Chevrolet parts book from the Filling Station. There is tons of information in the parts book you will need to know. \:D \:D \:D \:D

dawg: got the 29 to 32 master parts price from FS last year. unfortunatly, there aren't nearly enough illustrations(not FS fualt) like there are in the vette parts books printed 30-40 years after the 29-32 parts book. that's why this forum is especially beneficial to a novice like myself. thanks again. mike

Right....the early parts books didn't have many illustrations (which would be extremely helpful) but the 1932 book does list every part in the car...including fasteners, rubber grommets and etc. When I worked on my car, I went through each category of the parts book, item by item and checked what was needed, especially fasteners and the like. For example, when I worked on my distributor, I checked each part listed in the parts book. That way I knew what was used and what wasn't. Kept a check list in a notebook and then checked each item off as it was reinstalled. I read the parts book page by page and item by item and I discovered many things that I didn't know that the car used. More illustrations would have been beneficial, but the parts listing helped a ton too. \:D \:D \:D
