The button assembly consists of three parts, wire, rubber and metal cap. The wire fits into a groove in the rubber and cap fits over it. The edge of the rubber fits into a depression in the side of the metal cup in the center of the wheel. The wire legs contact a brass plate on the upper steering column bushing when the button is pushed. The brass plate has a wire attached that feeds through a hole in the column tube just above the gearbox. A connector attaches to the ground wire from the horn. When the button is pushed it completes the ground for the horn and it makes noise. That is if the horn is properly adjusted.
