Here we have a rare car used in the Geiranger district for hotel passengers.

Did they have 7-seaters like this in USA/Oceania? Locally built?

Some technical details wanted/confirmed for this 1931, please:

Bore/Stroke: 3179.7 cc., 3.2 L engine delivering 50.00 HP (36.8 KW) and 2600 RPM,
Bore x Stroke - 3.13 in x 3.75 in.
Displacement of 194 Cu.In.
Wheelbase - 109 Inches
Manual 3-Speed Transmission, ratio 40:10?

Brakes: 4 wheel, inside brakes, hydraulic? (Should have been mechanic, I think?), emergency brakes mechanic on rear wheels

Number built in 1931:(Depending on which body)

Other techical spesifications which are special for this year?

Could be delivered with 3 different wheeltypes: Disc, nat. wooden spokes and wire.

It's mention worthy that Chevrolet produced its 8 millionth car in 1931.

Add, if you have more details.

Some quick observations...

It looks like it is left-hand drive...?

My initial guess is that it's a Phaeton (or Touring) with some extra "jump seats" added to it.

The engine specs sound like typical '31 engine dimensions/ratings.

Yes, the brakes were changed out sometime at a later date. They had to have been mechanical originally.

In order to find out more, I think that you need to measure the length of the body - from cowl to the rear decklid... and then compare that to a Touring body.

Any other ideas?

More details from the owner here:

The car is LHD, and nearly fully restored. It was originally a standard Phaeton, and rare itself. The body and undercarriage was enlarged 20 cm, as well as the rear doors. This is a one-off car, rebuilt to carry 7 persons, as a hotel taxi. I have seen photos of Chevrolet 7 seater cars from 1933, and we have some few from late 30ties, but not restored and driving.

This 31 has only mechanical brakes, as original. The data tag has disappeared, but the ID should be XBAE and a number with 3 - 4 figures. If the car had been enlarged at the assembly factory in Copenhagen it might have had FC stamped behind XBAE. The history of the car is so well documented that the owner got new papers issued, still missing the data tag.

Quite a nice lovely car, this one.
