On august 3, of 2007, my 1957 Chevy 210 4dr. sedan was in a violent hail storm, dimpling every panel, and all but 2 pieces of stainless trim. I was under-insured and misinsured by a non-traditional classic car insurance company. The car only had 30,000 miles on it and I was the 4th owner, and had original paper work, includind check stub from the original purchaser. It had its share of chips and scratches that had been dabbed by previous owners; but my insurance company couldn't understand, the car was more than 90% original paint. Statements made inept, unqualified adjusters and staff, were beyond ludacrous,dis-ingenuine,rude and untruthful. With the payment they offered to repair the car, I knew any repairs would be half done and I would never be happy with a 1957 I thought I'd never be lucky enough to own, as a 60 year old DAV veteran. I'm looking for a replacement 57 Chevy, a 6 or 8 cyl. standard (with overdrive???) stock only, and assure you I'd treasure and care for it, fully knowing the work, effort and care, excercised by you and previous owners. I sold my 57 and with the minimal insurance check, even if I had to borrow money, I'd like to get a car, I'd be proud to take my wife to get ice cream in, and to cruise-ins. We Changed servers for our computer service, and am having trouble receiving E-mail; I can be reachedby phone at 315 732-2912, in Utica, N.Y. I know there are Chevy owners who would like to be reassured, that their car would get a good home and caretaker! Chevies foreverJoe
