my original fits a couple inches down in the mast jacket and bottoms out on a stamped dimple in the mast jacket. is this the proper location for chips repo? chips is a real tight fit compared to the original--will have to press it in or file a bit off the bushing.mike

You should have gotten an instruction sheet with the bushing. It will give instructions on the installation. If you did not get the instruction sheet let me know and I can email a copy to you. A deep socket makes a good installation tool. Add some lubricant, soap, light oil, silicone or MMO. You can add some tape on the socket side to guide the depth. Typically I start the bushing in the tube, place a board on the opposite end and push it flush. Then put the socket in place and finish pushing it into the tube.

I need to get one for my 36 GMC, is the Filling Station the vendor for these? And could you email me the directions also so that I can start on getting it ready when it arrives.

I had trouble with mine also to the point I thought it was going to break. I cleaned the tube very well and put some lube on it. A friend in San Jose sanded his lightly after me telling him about my problem and his came up to loose. Are they coming in slightly diffetant sizes?????????

got the bushing installed. it's tight but it will go in. shaft of steering column in bushing-- nice fit. thanks chip. mike

when chipper? was making the protype we measured about 5 different tubes and found a small differance in the tube sizes when you are dealing with a good snug fit a few thousands makes a differance. best to try first before sanding or reaming . hopes this helps oldpush
