I am building a 1964 Biscayne two door post car. The car was originally a three speed six cylinder car. It now has a M22 four speed with a new 402 BBC. Question. The car has the original radiator support which is in excellent condition. I would like to install a new bolt in radiator. First question. Any recommendations on type and electric fans? Second question. Will any 1964 replacement radiators such as Griffin or Desert Cooler fit the original radiator support/bolt pattern or is the original six cylinder different than the 283/327 or 409? Any help would certainly be appreciated prior to puchasing a radiator and electric fan and finding out that it won't bolt in.

Thanks

Red Ryder

Contact Show Cars in New Ulm Minn at http://www.dr409.com They have everything you need. DO NOT USE THE SIX CYLINDER RADIATOR, AND YOU MUST GET THE CORRECT BIG BLOCK SHROUD!!!!
Good luck,
John

For modifications of this type you may want to try chevytalkcm. They cover modified cars and should be helpful also.

Molly,
I am sorry I did not read your question that close and really did offer the answer you were looking for,..... as far as the radiator support bolt patterns are the same for all of the engines in 64. There is a problem with the 409 style radiators is that the feed and the return are stacked on the same side above each other and have a tendency to not allow full circulation through the entire radiator at highway speeds or continued high RPM's, the coolant will pull through the stacked tubes over the feed and below the return, I know some guys who placed a baffle inside of the radiator to deflect the flow of the coolant to the far side, and temp dropped a few degrees.
Good luck
John

Mel,

Just last night, I noticed a 62 235 on Monte Shelton's web site. He's in Portland, OR. Besides being the 'area' Jaguar dealer, he also deals in 'collector cars.'

I'm don't recall the exact model, details, etc.

Actually now I'm thinking it may have been at Memory Lane Motors. Owned by Dale Matthews. Also here in Portland, OR.

Sorry for the confusion. You can google "Monte Shelton Collector Cars" AND "Memory Lane Motors Portland, OR" and check it out. There's also a Memory Lane Motors in Seattle, so it's best to add Portland, OR to the search to avoid confusion.

(I'd like to keep the term 'confusion' for myself. Seems to fit me just fine!!!)

It's OK with me if you mention my name. I've known both these Collector Car dealer-guys for 30-35 years and I don't think they'll raise the price too much if you mention my name....

Bill.
