Dear ALL. Can someone help me sort out these Con Rod numbers for the 1932 ( Chip is helping me out to identify if it actualy is a 1932) These Con Rods are on this engine but according to the informaion I got these are not 1932? The numbers on the C.R. are=836601 and 836512 they have the Bowtie stamped on them. Many Thanks for your help. Glen.
I found the 836601 in the hollander interchange listed as fitting 1932 however I could not find 836512-They did list 835512 as fitting 29-31.The part numbers are different from the casting numbers which show in my 29-38 price list as 363414 for 29-31 and 363713 for 32.An interesting note in the Hollander manual states the 32 rod can be used on 29-31 but does not have babbit flanges.

1952 parts book lists part #363713 (forge #836601) as fitting 1929-32.So in the later years they were combined.1941 book lists 1929-31 rod as part #363414 - forging number not shown....836512 is the part number for a 1932-33 oil distributor valve cap - so I doubt if that number was ever used as a forging number.

m006840 is correct. The 601 rods are correct for '32 only. They have the steel extending to the edges or thrust surface on the crank end. The earlier 512 rods have babbit thrust surface on the crank end. Both can be used in any '29-32 engine but should not be mixed in an engine. There will likely be a weight difference total and end to end which can result in vibration.
