On my '31 coupe, is it better to run the rear window rubber moulding around in one piece or cut it so I have two side strips and one top?

One piece is best. Use super glue to attach the ends.

You may want to check and see if the rubber should be sized to the glass before installing it.On my 32 sedan to keep the corners smooth it was necessary to cut the rubber so it was shorter than the glass outer edge making it necessary to stretch it to keep the corners from bulging.

I planed on slipping the moulding in place so I could measure for the window size. My window is completely gone except for the bottom metal moulding. I then would slip the moulding in with the window. I'm also guessing the top corners are rounded somewhat so as not to injure the moulding when window is rolled up. I'm using part# 70-1168 from the FILLING STATION which is for 1/4" glass. I did notice today when I put it up there it did buckle around the corners. Thanks for the tips.

jerrygolf,
When I had to have some replacement glass made from scratch, I created a pattern using 1/4" masonite rough cut to the opening / window trim to start with. Then with the rubber molding in place I continued to modify the pattern until a satifactory fit was obtained before I ordered the glass cut from the finished pattern. This seemed to work well.

Thanks fuzzyswede from a crazypolock. Sounds like a good idea. The glass shop is only 10 miles from me and he said he would come out and measure them as I also need a windshield and two side windows. That way if they didn't work he would have to redo them.
