That's how I learned how to dance- waiting for the bathroom.

This is a subject that we were talking about at another board and we all know that not all '65 and '66 Full Size cars had shrouds, but we trying to find out exactly which ones did and what material they were made out of (shrouds themselves, not the spacers).

It seems like all cars with Air Conditioning, V-8's anyway, had fan shrouds and cars with HD Cooling had them. Also, it seems like all Big Block cars had them.

It also seems like some were plastic and some were metal, altho the metal ones were more in '65 and the plastic ones were more in '66. My theory for the reason for different materials is that some plants were still using metal, while others had started using plastic.

Just wondering what you all over here would have to add as some things have not been definitely been decided.

Any info would be appreciated.

This was discussed here a few months back. The car in qestion was a 1965 396 with air. There are several shroud combinations listed in the parts book. From my experiance in the parts dept. when these cars were new the book isnot 100% dependable. Some shrouds were metal and were in front of the core and the core sat back farther, and some were to the rear. I will try to see what I can find again.
What engine, Ac etc combination are you looking at?

Just trying to find out general info on it. The '58 to '64 cars are pretty easy to understand and the '67 and up cars also pretty easy, but the '65 and '66 Full Size cars are kind of a mystery and seem not to follow a certain pattern. I have people asking me about them now and then and the '65 and '66 Full Size parts cars I have here do not help in determining. Just got asked again about it on another '65. He also has a '59 parts car for me to look at and I'll be seeing him again soon. I believe his '65 is just a small block non-AC car.
