I have a '49 chevy panel truck and I'm having a problem adjusting the drivers door to latch properly. I've replaced the upper hinge pin and made all kinds of adjustments with the hinge and door bolts, but nothing seems to help. When you look at the closed door the lower right corner of the door panel sticks a bit out from the adjacent surface. It almost looks like the door could be
warped.
Does anyone have an opinion on further adjustments that I can do?

You can do one of two things or perhaps both. Loosen the bottom hinge from the post and pull door OUT. If improvement on fit continue to work with it. If worse fit, move bottom post hinge IN and try again. No help, move top hinge at post OUT.

Hope the above adjustments helped, if not, place a wooden block in the upper right of the door (opposite the hinge post) and apply pressure at the lower (away from door post) edge of the door and try to twist the door.

If the vehicle has encountered an OOps, it will be difficult to make things close and aline properly.

I forgot to mention, Welcome to Chevy Chat. I hope you find a niche to fit in with us.

If I had known that growing old would be this much fun---I'd have done it sooner!

At some time in the past the 52 encourtered an oops situation while backing with the door open. Evidence are crimmped stainles at the front of the door and missing, door restraint. The bottom of the door always hung out there and was very visible. Using an old shade tr3ee mechani's trick I put a slim piece of oak molding between the hinge and the door frame, very carefully and easily I started closing the door on the hinge, while the finished product is not perfect there is great improvement. I suspect that the remainder of the problem can be cured with the above advice.
