In a previous post regarding speedo cable routing JunkYardDog advised the cable has a bracket @ the frame.I do not have any holes in the area I believe it should mount.Could someone advise as to the dimensions of the bracket and its mounting location.The distance forward of the trans rear xmember and whether it mounts to the top or lower rail flange or the side.

Look for a 1/4 - 20 hole in the frame side rail about 9 1/4" ahead of the front step hanger.

Thanks d2d2 I found the hole you referenced.Didn't think that was it because my cable is about 6 inches away from that hole if I maintain a smooth bend, and somewhat to the rear of it.If it were any further forward it would interfere with the clutch release arm.

The L shaped bracket holds the cable about 2 1/2" away from the inner side of the frame rail. If you need one, I might have some of the brackets but haven't found them yet.

I will certainly do that and appreciate the offer.Perhaps my cable is incorrect as it seems too short to get that close to the frame without making a sharp bend.I won't mind fabricating a suitable bracket as this car is a driver and not a show car.

The correct cable is long enough to make a long sweeping bend to the cable bracket before it goes to the universal joint retainer.

The correct '31-2 cable is 58 1/8" long.
