I recently purchased a reproduction tail light bracket for the right side. Below where the bucket attaches it has a couple holes for a license plate bracket. Was this true on the original accessory right tail light bracket? Did the original even have an arm that extended down far enough to accomodate a license plate bracket?

Do you have copies of the 1931 and 1932 Chevrolet Service News? If not, you need to purchase them from the Filling Station. There are 12 issues per year and they contain a lot of very detailed information that you will need......including photos and installation instructions on the right-hand tail light. These issues will also answer a lot of your questions as well.

Remove the license tag bracket from the tail lamp bracket by cutting or sawing on lines shown in fig. 10. (from Chevrolet Service News for Feb. 1931, page 15)

The line shown in fig. 10 is a straight horizontal cut below the lower mounting hole for the tail lamp and above the first bend in the license bracket.

Thanks guys. I've been to page 10 and have found the instructions. I'll make the cut tomorrow. I appreciate your help.
