Hi Guys,

I have a couple door handles with ailments. The inner steel shaft engages properly with the mechanical parts in the door, but when you try turning the handle, it just keeps on spinning on the shaft. I already replaced one handle because some of the pot metal on the handle was broken anyway. The other handle is the locking one, so I'd rather fix it.

I've moved the handles around to make sure the inside mechanicals are OK.

Any ideas?

Sorry to tell you that the handle is dooomed. You can try some loctite or super glue carefully applied. As long as the parts are clean it should give a temporary fix. Don't know how long temporary is in this case.

Don't mess with the old outside door handles....it is an endless battle. You can get new door handles, both locking and non-locking, from the Filling Station in Lebanon, Oregon.

Thanks. Yes, they are in FS catalog, but my locking handle has been on back order since Christmas. The non-locking was too but came last month. I guess I'll keep waiting.
