Hello all! Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and that Bill Coor's cans are turning blue for JunkYardDogJunkYardDog! We're trying to finish up our 31 Coach and have a couple of questions pertaining to that goal. First, did all 31 Chevys have brackets attached to the engine block holding the six spark plug wires? (I'm sure The Dog, Chipper, and many others can answer this.) If so, what color were the brackets, and what color were the nuts (and washers?) that held them to the block? Secondly, has anyone used the stainless steel fuel line that the Filling Station sells which runs from the tank to the fuel filter? Is it relatively easy to install, and is the fit good? I thank you all in advance for any information you can provide on these two subjects. Have a great rest of the summer! - The Ol Coach

Yes, all 1931 Chevrolets used the spark plug wire brackets. The brackets, acorn nuts and the washers were all painted engine color, Dark Blue-Gray.

I have never used the Filling Station gas line but if like other parts they sell should work and fit fine. I have original line that I copy in zinc plated steel. Fits well but you have to hold your tongue just right to snake it into place. I make it in two pieces since it is more convenient to use the 5' pieces (5/16" brake line) that I get from the local auto parts store. It also permits me to add an inline filter in the middle. Am about to order a coil of tubing to see about making (for my use) a single piece line. Don't know if I will like it or not. I am sure that I will not like making it all by hand though. Some of the bends are tough to do and get right.

Wires 1 and 2 go through the front spark plug wire bracket, and wires 5 and 6 along with the coil wire go through the back bracket.

If you check the period parts books, the length of the spark plug wires are listed.
