I have a 31 Special sedan where someone in the past had placed a solenoid on the firewall, removed the floor start contact from the starter and placed a terminal to place the cable from the solenoid to the starter. Hence, a key start in lieu of a foot start. I want to replace the parts and make it a foot start as original. In doing so I am having difficulty finding the original contact that mounts on the starter where the foot switch makes contact. Could someone please point me in the right direction where I might find one? Thanks Bill

Thanks JunkYardDog, had to drive down to Turlock but found one and the starter works great. One more question if I may. Now that I have the kick starter switch installed the ignition advance cable runs right where the positive post and battery cable are located on the switch---not good. Is the ignition advance cable suppose to be that close or is there a strap that keeps the ignition advance cable away from the positive post?

in 31 there was a rubber boot on the starter cable that covered the terminal next there was a cover on the advance cable in that area looked like wire loom covering that fit tight on the cable to help insulate. hope this helps

Thanks Pushrod, that sounds like it will work fine. Now off I go to NAPA again to see about the terminal boot. They just love me down there. Thanks again. Bill

Just a follow up. I received the new terminal boot from "Solarseller" and it fit great. Hooked up the battery and the starter works great. The "kick" starter works much better than the solenoid arrangement that I replaced. I don't know why the previous owner ever did that. Thanks for all your help. Bill
