hi all, the chevrolet service manual mentions a "rear brake operating lever stop" in the brake adjstment section. I can't see a stop on my car can somone tell me what it looks like or post a photo. It could be missing as I am build up a car from a basket case.

Here is what I believe the Service Manual is referring to:

Each rear brake external brake band apply system has what is referred to as a "Service brake lever". The large "J" shaped lever arm. At the upper end of the Service Brake Lever (above the service brake rear pull rod rear clevis attachment) there is a small tapered projection on the lever. At each end of each Emergency Brake shaft (this shaft runs between the brake backing plates and the differential carrier housing parallel to the axle housing tube) there is a circular clamp used to retain the shaft from lateral movement.

The projections on the lever arms should be in contact with the surface of the emergency brake shaft outer clamp surfaces, or as he Service Manual puts it, "rear brake operating lever stop".

My 1928 AB Canopy Express is missing these 'stops'. How thick are they (what is the distance that they space the service brake lever from the emergency brake rod)?

I'm estimating .070 to .080 inches. Not much, just the thickness of the clamp material.
