Its common for the parts in the shift tower (at base of lever) to be worn. The pieces fit from 1937-1947 and are easy to find. One after market outfit even made a kit for this.

Your problem sounds like the startup of my 28 --of unknown history-- the flywheel can be installed in wrong position so timing marks are wacky. I checked against #1 TDC on compression and found the flywheel timing msrk off one bolt hole, paint marke

Big thank's Jimpala70. Actually I got the original manifold with it for a total of $70. It's for a 68 350. The Q-jet is a 4MV, and the manifold dates out to August 67. I've been cleaning both the last few days and the carb is looking real nice, but

The bulbs are 2320L for all vehicles according to the spec sheet. The only way age should affect the bulb is the hours it's used. Just sitting on a shelf shouldn't be an issue. I got my stock of bulbs through my local Bumper To Bumper store. They had

John, Could it be that your dad's 54 has had a 55 or later engine replacement? If that is the case, in order for it to fit in the 54 chassis with the radiator in the normal 54 position that would require a 55 water pump with a shortened shaft. If th

Can anyone tell me or point me to alisting of the correct headlight bulb identification for a 38 Master Deluxe. I assume there were (are) multiple manufacturers with differing number schemes. Where's the best place to get these bulbs? Does the bulb a

Mike, If you have an extra spare tire lock that is correct for the 1940 1/2 ton pickup, I'd be interested in buying one. I believe the nut I have is original. It's about 1" tall, with a round section between a hex at each end. Mark Yeamans
